Ingredients
- 2 Tbls. bacon drippings
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Dash pepper
- 1 small onion, whole
- 4 to 5 whole cloves
- 4 cups shredded red cabbage (1/2 medium head
- 2 cups pared, sliced apples
Instructions
- In medium skillet, heat bacon drippings. Blend in brown sugar, vinegar, water, salt, and pepper.
- Stick whole onion with whole cloves.
- Add cabbage, apple, and cloved onion to skillet.
- Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 25-30 mins.
