Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. pork breakfast sausage (bulk package)
- 2 Tbl. chopped yellow onion
- 3 Tbl. flour
- 2 cups hot milk
- salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 pkg. southern-style frozen biscuits (or this recipe for making them from scratch!)
Instructions
- Prepare the frozen buscuits ahead of time. Follow the directions on the package. Time it so the biscuits are still warm when the gravy is finished.
- Heat frying pan over medium heat, then add sausage and chopped onion to pan. Saute until sausage is brown and onion is translucent, about 8-10 mins.
- Drain off all excess grease but for 2 Tbls. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 mins until light brown in color.
- Add the hot milk and stir until the mixture thickens, about 5 mins. Season with salt & pepper, and a dash of poultry seasoning.
- Serve immediately over warm biscuits.
