Have you ever struggled with peeling hard boiled eggs? Well, consider your struggle over! This recipe will yield perfectly peeled eggs EVERY TIME!! It’s truly an amazing recipe given to me by my mother-in-law who went to great lengths researching and testing out various claims of recipes proclaiming an easy peel. This is the only recipe you’ll need for making deviled eggs because every egg will come out perfectly peeled! OK, here goes:

Ingredients:

  • 12 eggs
  • 9 cups of water
  • 1/3 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons salt

Directions:

  1. Combine the salt, vinegar, and water in a pot large enough to hold 12 eggs. Bring to a boil over high heat. Add the eggs one at a time, being careful not to crack them as you lower them into the pot. (I use a pasta server). Bring the pot back to a gentle boil and cook for 14 minutes (start timing it after the pot returns to a boil).
  2. After the cooking time is up, remove the eggs from the hot water and place them into a container of ice water or cold, running water. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, peeled or unpeeled.
